Valid: Thursday 12th – Friday 13th July 2012
Issued For: Heavy Rain, Localised Flooding
- An active weather front pushing across Southern England will bring a period of heavy rainfall
- Rainfall totals locally up to 25mm
- Lingering front through Friday leading to localised thundery downpours
- CAPE in the region of 400-600 J/KG and a LIFT of -2 on Friday
Through the course of Thursday morning and through into the early hours of Friday morning a series of weather fronts associated with an area of Low Pressure crossing Southern England will bring a period of heavy rainfall to Southern parts of England and Wales, due to the already saturated grounds and high river levels this may lead to some further localised flooding. Rainfall totals of 10-15mm are expected quite widely but local totals of 20-25mm cannot be ruled out.
Through Friday the weather front will then linger across Southern England and this is expected to spark off a few heavy, thundery showers and this could add a further 10-15mm across effected areas.
