I mentioned a few days ago that it looked like an area of low pressure was going to spoil the party this bank holiday weekend and that still looks likely with heavy rain and strong winds effecting a fairly large part of the country. Lets break the forecast down a little.

Saturday:

Heavy slow moving showers will develop across the bulk of England and Wales, some likely to be thundery thanks to CAPE of 500-900 J/KG, localised flooding possible with gusts up to 45mph in exposed locations. Drier across Scotland/Northern Ireland but even here, isolated showers likely. Highs of 21c

Sunday:

Showers will effect Eastern areas throughout the day, these are expected to be mostly light but we could see one or two heavier showers developing, elsewhere drier and brighter with some decent sunshine around. Highs of 21c

Monday:

An area of rain will push into N Ireland and Western England through the morning slowly spreading Eastwards through the day, more showery across the South, becoming windy towards the North-West of England and across Western Scotland. Highs of 18-21c
