The snow this week will give way to a thunderstorm & flooding risk as we go through the weekend. An active cold front pushing Eastwards across the country will bring the risk of heavy thundery downpours primarily across South-Western England and Southern Central parts of England.
The frontal system will push up into South-Western parts during the course of Friday night bringing a period of heavy and persistent rainfall into Saturday morning. Localised rainfall totals of 50-60mm could cause some flooding issues in the worst effected areas. Through the day on Saturday isolated heavy thundery showers are likely to develop bringing the risk of brief localised flooding.
Looking further ahead into next week it’s looking rather unsettled with low pressure firmly in charge, there is the potential we could see a snow risk through Scotland and perhaps Northern England at times during the week too but there’s quite a bit of uncertainty regarding that.
